After banging my head against the wall for hours trying several javascript plugins (JQuery.ifixpng & SuperSleight) to make my background png graphics appear correctly in IE6, I finally found my sparkling gem.
That gem is know as IE7 and no I am not talking about the actual IE7 browser. I am referring to the IE7 javascript library. Dean states on his site that "IE7 is a JavaScript library to make IE behave like a standards-compliant browser. It fixes many CSS issues and makes transparent PNG work correctly under IE5 and IE6." It definitely does!
I found this while reading this comment by Trevor Davis (thanks Trevor!) on the Day 1 post to 24ways - Transparent PNGs in Internet Explorer 6 about SuperSleight which, by the way, I couldn't get to work for my background pngs but of course it was probably something I was doing wrong.
Even though the IE7 javascript library has been around for a while I didn't know it existed in the sea of billions of web pages. Hope you or someone you know will find this useful.
